In April students from Year 8 and Year 9 competed in an exhilarating regional final of the United Kingdom Mathematics Trust Team Maths Challenge. Teams of four pupils competed in speed and relay rounds to complete a range of challenging problems. Alan Slomson and Andrew Jobbings from UKMT (United Kingdom Mathematics Trust) ran the proceedings and were very impressed by the standard of all the teams taking part.

We are delighted to announce that the four students from Woodham Academy completed the day in the top third of the thirty three schools attending, learning lots of mathematics in the process – a favourable day for all! Well done to Callum Fielden, Andrew Blair, Angel Woods and Charlie Pemberton for a particularly exceptional cross number round and an admirable 11th place, The winners overall were Durham Johnston School who will be competing in the final in London this summer
