Laura Radford is 24 years old and she married her childhood boyfriend in 2015. They both come from Exeter Devon, and at the age of 16 Laura moved to London to performing on the West End stage. London was where she completed Level 3 NVQ in performing arts and was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to work on stage as a member of West End Kids training company and enjoyed every minute. At the age of 18, Laura was diagnosed with epilepsy which meant she had to step away from the stage and find a new career path that would fit in with her health. She headed back to Exeter College where she studied for three years qualifying in Beauty Therapy and during this time went to work at Heaven Holiday Park in Exmouth as a Beautician.
After being diagnosed with epilepsy she was later told she didn’t have it, and in fact, her condition is neurological called NEAD (non epileptic attack disorder) which means Laura suffers seizures but it is not known what triggers them. As a result she cannot be medicated just monitored regularly. Because of this, it has been very difficult for Laura to work for an employer as she never knows if she is going to have an attack. Laura told Newton News: “Because of my condition and wanting to work I decided to go self-employed with assistance from the Jobcentre and their new scheme called New Enterprise Allowance (https://www.gov.uk/newenterprise-allowance). I set up my own mobile beauty and pamper service in the comfort of clients’ homes.
