The Harebell Veterans and Honourable Veterans held a street party on Friday 3rd June.
Out of the street veterans between them they have given 80 years, 183 days of regular service (23 years of reserve and 42 years of volunteering for SSAFA) – making a combined total of 145 years and 183 days service to their country. There was also a serving member of the armed forces, Paul Mulley, who has completed 25 years, so this celebration marked his silver jubilee.
Family friends from all over the country managed to attend the street celebration, ranging from Plymouth to Lincolnshire and Sheffield to Hetton-le-Hole. There was also a visit from Her Majesty, the Queen, MP for Sedgefield Paul Howell and DC Cllr. David Sutton-Lloyd and Tony Stubbs. It was a well organised family day which was enjoyed by all.
