The Conservatives are putting 3 people forward, for County Council in Newton Aycliffe, who don’t live anywhere near the town. Apparently one appears to live in Sedgefield, another in Billingham and yet another in Redcar (they deliberately hide this by putting ‘address in County Durham’ on the ballot paper.) Even more insulting, the Lib Dems are putting 2 people forward for the Town Council, one who lives in Brafferton Village, Darlington and the other in Heighington Parish. This may be legal ie; because they live, work or own a property anywhere in County Durham, but it is an utter disgrace and an insult to the residents of Great Aycliffe.
Do you really want 3 Conservative County Councillors representing you at County Council who have nothing to do with Newton Aycliffe, don’t pay Council Tax in Great Aycliffe, having a say on your interests and representing you?
Look what happened last time.
Do you really want Lib Dems from Brafferton Village and Heighington Parish sitting on your Town Council representing you, whose only interest is cutting your services and facilities? These parties are an utter disgrace to democracy, and local accountability. None of them live or even pay Council Tax in Newton Aycliffe.
They insult your intelligence, relying on you only to vote on a Party Label, without knowing where they live. Do not vote Conservative or Lib Dem, they will only laugh at you whilst lining their pockets at your expense.
