It’s been a very busy week, caring for our prickly babies in this rescue on top of fundraising and getting ready for Christmas etc, the list gets longer every day. I normally can accommodate between 5 and 7 cages here but, because over recent weeks, admitting a lot of babies and juveniles that didn’t get to release weight before the weather turned against them, I have ten cages here all with two or three in each cage which is a lot of work. My day starts at just before six, hoggies done first then I have the rest of the day to turn my attention to my family and our home. I just manage to get sat down at about 9pm. All hoggies are doing well and they will be here ‘til spring.
Can I thank June and Valerie for doing some beautiful Christmas ornaments, Hazel for some hand carved tree decorations. She couldn’t get them to me when she wanted to due to ill health, get well soon Hazel. Also a thanks to Jackie and John Connell for their donation of wool too.
I am trying to do a raffle, it is smaller than normal, time is a problem at the moment, but I have got some lovely prizes as follows: £20 McDonalds Voucher, Aycliffe Restaurant
£15, Olive Garden Voucher, Cobblers Hall, £10 Voucher from Walkers the Butcher, Simpasture, a lovely jewellery box from Teri of Complichic.
26 hedgehogs is the most I have ever had at one time so I am asking for as much support as possible, times are hard for everyone especially us rescuers, the pressure of caring is immense and I devote a lot of my time making certain that they are clean, healthy and well fed which will have to continue now ‘til spring.
