Homes and communities organisation, livin, is offering job seekers the chance to join its nationally recognised programme as part of National Apprenticeship Week.

livin is hosting an Open Day on Tuesday 12 March at its headquarters in Durhamgate, Spennymoor as part of its ‘livin Futures’ partnership programme, ran in conjunction with partners Mears,  Bullock and Southdale.

Representatives from the partnership, local colleges, Gestamp Tallent Ltd, South West Durham Training, the National Apprenticeship Service and Construction Skills will be on hand to talk to job seekers and school leavers about a wide range of training and employment opportunities.

Attendees will also be able to hear first-hand from a number of apprentices currently employed through the partnership about the benefits apprenticeships offer.

Alan Boddy, executive director for livin, said: “Over 150 people attended last year’s event and this year we have even more employers on board who are offering real apprenticeship opportunities.

“As a partnership we offer a broad range of apprenticeship as well as long term support for people once their apprenticeship is complete.”

The open event will take place between 3.00pm – 6pm (booking not necessary) at livin’s head office, Farrell House, Arlington Way, DurhamGate, Spennymoor, DL16 6NL.
