Hello everyone,
I hope this update finds you well. The Neighbourhood, Response and Crime teams, working out of Newton Aycliffe, have been busy responding to a variety of incidents across the area over the past week, including Concerns for Safety, Missing Persons, Shoplifting, Domestic Incidents and Harassment.
Below is a brief overview of what we have been up to:
On Sunday, a male was arrested for a number of offences, including criminal damage, racially aggravated public order and assaulting an emergency worker.
On Monday, a 17-year-old male was arrested on suspicion of cultivating cannabis. The male was transported to custody and released on police bail pending further enquiries.
Also on Monday, PCSO’s Nichols and Kipling attended a multi-agency walkabout in the Alston Crescent area. Also present were representatives from Livin, Durham County Council and Neighbourhood Wardens.
On Tuesday, members of the neighbourhood team attended Vane Road Primary School to speak with Years 5 and 6 around some important topics. Carousel sessions were done on Internet Safety, Crime and Consequences, Bullying and Anti-Social Behaviour. We have one more school to attend and then we will have spoken with every Year 5 and 6 student in Newton Aycliffe over the past school year.
On Wednesday, enquiries were conducted into a number of incidents by PCSO’s Kipling and Todd, including criminal damage and theft.
Also on Wednesday, PCSO’s Kipling & Todd responded to a report of a vulnerable male nearby to the town centre. Thankfully, the male was located fit and well and returned home.
Enquiries are ongoing after a report of criminal damage to a property on Silkin Way which was reported on Wednesday evening.
CCTV enquiries are ongoing after a report of youths damaging a door to a local shop on Thursday evening.
On Friday evening, our new youth club was back again at Greenfield Community College. We had Badminton and Table Tennis this week!
Officers have been out and about over the course of the weekend focusing on Anti-Social Behaviour hotspots, engaging with local shops, residents and youths in the process.
Thanks for reading and for your continued support, have a great week.
PCSO Steven Kipling.
