Emily Cant is a very bright bubbly girl and a typical 8 year old child but she has Cystic Diplasia kidneys. She attends hospital often for scans and blood tests and has had many infections but she just gets on with life. She hates taking the medicine but understands what is wrong, Even though her parents are in limbo, not knowing what’s going to happen, the doctors are brilliant. It means Emma having a day off school which she doesn’t like, but they keep her well entertained in hospital.

Steven Weaver, Andy Cooper and Leo Freeman are taking on the “PARA’s Ten Challenge” on 8th September to help Emma. They have been training for several months and as good friends, wanted to do it for the Childrens Kidney Unit at Newcastle RVI. A raffle is also being organised with good prizes and an auction of football memorabilia, and golf games. There has been help from Creations hair salon, Thames Centre Butchers and many more local businesses.

The charity event is planned at Newton Aycliffe Sports Club on 23rd August with a disco provided by Dave, games the auction and raffle. It starts at 7pm with free entry. Raffle tickets can be bought at the Sports Club and from Michelle at Creations Hair Salon.
