Never Do Nothing Safeguarding Children Award
If you are a voluntary organisation that works with children and young people then you need to have the Never Do Nothing safeguarding standard that is endorsed by the Local Safeguarding Children’s Board for County Durham.
CAVOS will guide you through what you need in a simple and practical way to help you to implement your policies and procedures on safeguarding but also so that your staff and volunteers are supported and trained to understand what action to take if they have a concern about the safety or wellbeing of a child or young person.
Let us help you to help your front line staff and volunteers to help the children and young people who may need your support.
This support is free to voluntary and community groups within the Newton Aycliffe, Middridge and Great Aycliffe area and has been funded by the Great Aycliffe and Middridge Partnership.
Get Social with Media
Does your group have a Facebook page but have no idea how to use it? Does Twitter mean nothing more to you than a sound a bird makes? If so you and your community group could be missing out on a fantastic opportunity to gain new members and volunteers, attract funding and get the word out about the great work you are doing.
Not just for young people, over two thirds of adults aged 35 – 55 and 20% of over 65’s use social media in their day to day activities.
Thanks to funding from Great Aycliffe and Middridge AAP, CAVOS are delighted to be offering FREE training and hands on support in Social Media for community organisations based in the GAMP area (Newton Aycliffe, Middridge and Great Aycliffe).
Training is delivered in CAVOS’ usual practice and down to earth style, by staff member Laura, who also happens to be one of the UK’s top bloggers! Spaces are limited, so don’t delay in booking your place on this project.
The first training session will be held on Tuesday 27th May, 9.30am – 12.30pm at Woodham Community Centre. Further hands on support sessions will follow this training at Greenfield Community Arts Centre.
If you are interested in either or both of these fantastic opportunities please contact donna@cavos.org.uk or 01388 811 115
