An important aspect of life at Woodham Academy is embracing what can be achieved when we put our hearts and minds together and act.  During the course of the past year, Woodham Academy has supported a number of charities.
Last November, in excess of £1500 was raised for Children in Need Appeal through a day long event. The school has been raising money for the charity for the past 7 years.
The whole school participates in the delivering of hampers to nominated local residents, particularly senior citizens and families in difficult circumstances at Christmas.
Students also fundraised to donate almost £350 to Family Help, Darlington.  This contribution helps towards providing refuge for over one hundred victims of domestic violence during the year, in addition to assisting to finance the help-line that the charity runs.
Woodham Academy students make a massive effort in raising money. Their positive attitudes towards the events they undertake are an incredibly inspiring and empowering force.  Not only do their endeavours benefit those receiving support, it also engenders a feeling of pride. Charity has a vision of kindness, and a simple awareness that the best aspect of human nature is represented by those who take time to help others in need.
