Butterwick Hospice are calling upon your festive spirit, offering an invitation to enter their annual Santa Run on Sunday 7th December at Hardwick Park. Sedgefield at Christmas time is the perfect place to spend a Sunday morning with family and friends or work colleagues, whilst having fun raising funds for the charity.
Your support enables Butterwick Hospice to continue delivering very special care for children and adults living with life threatening illnesses..  The event is jointly supported by Durham County Council and Sedgefield Harriers, with all proceeds going to benefit the Hospice.
The event is a spectacular sea of red and white with everyone in humorous mood in their Santa attire.  Entry is £12 for adults which includes a full Santa suit to include trousers, jacket, belt, hat and beard (one size fits all).  Children aged 15 and under entry is £6and they will receive a Santa hat. Everyone completing the event is presented with a commemorative medal and certificate as they cross the finishing line.
Entrants are encouraged to place your entries as early as possible in order that we can mail or deliver your outfits to you. All entrants must pre – register
The route is slightly less than 3km and remember the accent is on FUN rather than RUN.  You can run, jog, walk or have a leisurely Santa stroll along this idyllic route. The main event commences at 10.30am, quickly followed by the “Santa Dog event “so if you wish to bring your dog along and follow the route through the woodland and lakeside they will be given a race number for just a £2 donation.
Once again upon completion each dog receives their own little festive collar charm. There is ample parking on the site and after the event there is a café for refreshments.  Families bringing young children may want to re-visit the lakeside to feed the ducks, swans and winter water fowl.
