An up turn in the weather ensured that all scheduled games went ahead at the OakLeaf. However, not all our teams had fixtures over the weekend.
Aycliffe U7 Eagles v Stockton Town Reds
A tough game in very cold conditions. The first half was very close with both teams doing their best to keep the ball moving. In the second half the Eagles tired a little. Despite conceding a few goals in the second half, the boys kept working and never gave up. Thank you for the winter coats sponsored by Durham Autoclaves & Steriliser Services.
Aycliffe U8 Wildcats v Hetton Athenas
The first half was dominated by the girls, creating numerous chances, but they just couldn’t find a breakthrough. The second half continued with Aycliffe unable to find the net, whilst at the other end Hetton created three chances and scored them all. Great effort from everyone.
Aycliffe U10 Eagles v AJX FC
The Eagles played some wonderful football with George D scoring four in the first half. Adam was rock solid at the back with Harry, George, Sam and Phoenix working really hard and they made some great tackles. Harry pulled off a fine save before Harry L almost scored from 30 yards, but the ball rebounded off the bar. Eagles thoroughly deserved the victory.
Beamish v Aycliffe U11 Girls
A dominant performance from the girls. Amelia opened the scoring from a cross from Poppy. However, Beamish were creating chances, but Daisy managed to quickly come off her line and keep the score HT 1-0. Second half and Aycliffe were pushing hard and the goals started to come. Goals from Poppy and Lily were soon followed from Emily C. From a Beamish corner, a scramble in the box found Beamish scoring. However, Poppy quickly responded with a run from the half-way line and rounded the keeper. FT 6-1.
Guisborough Town Blacks 6 v Aycliffe U12 Eagles 3
A very even first half with plenty of goals and HT arrived 3-3, however increased the pressure on the Eagles defence and scored 3 times without reply.
Aycliffe U13 Girls 2 v Washington Utd 1
Really tight game, edged by Aycliffe, with goals from Imogen and Payton.
Wylam Rockets 1 v Aycliffe U14 Girls 4
The long journey up to Northumberland was rewarded with a hard fought victory to keep our impressive start to the season rolling on. Scarlett scored a brace with a penalty for Miller and Ebony getting our final goal. POTM Pippa.
Newton Aycliffe Youth Angels 5 v Darlington FC 2 (Cup)
There was nothing in the game for the first 8 minutes but, at that point, Aycliife took the lead. Isobel played a ball forward for Romilly to finish well. Three minutes later we doubled our lead. This time Heidi got the assist for Romilly to finish. Darlington scored before Romilly completed her hat trick HT 3-1. Second half goals from Romilly and Charli and the girls were into the semi final of the cup.
Silksworth Blues 1 v Aycliffe U15 Eagles 9 (Cup)
The Eagles dominated from the initial whistle with some fantastic passing and moving. The effort from everyone was outstanding and the boys played with confidence. Goals from Noah x 2, Olly x 2, Adam, Kaiden, Joel, Will and Ollie F. MOM: Noah.
Aycliffe U17 Eagles 5 v Riverside Juniors 2
The lads opened the scoring in the first minute through Adam but the opposition equalised mid-way through the half. However, Aycliffe took control with goals from Tom and Travis before half time. A goal from Noah and a reply from Riverside in the second half completed a good game of football, taking the lads to second in the table with a game in hand of the leaders.
