With a few of our teams having a bye in the league cups and others having their game postponed, it was a quiet weekend for football.
Aycliffe U13 Girls 3 v Pools Youth 2
An amazing team performance secured all 3 points. As well as our defence putting in an outstanding performance our midfield was always looking keen and eager to get us the goals. With the score level 2-2, and 1 minute left, a clear penalty awarded to Aycliffe and Peyton stepped up to score.
POTM: Maddi V and Peyton.

Eagles put in a very hard working performance and battled so hard against a strong physical side. Eagles conceded against the run of play but defended so well, limiting their opponents to only a few chances. Eagles won free kick after free kick but didn’t get the run of the green in the final third. Very proud of every player for the way they battled today.

Middleton Rangers v Aycliffe U7 Eagles
Away game for the boys and faced a very physical team. The scoreline doesn’t show how difficult this team were to play against. The boys showed some lovely passing and scored some good goals. Two goals each for Kurtis, Oliver S and Luke. In the development game, Mason scored a hat-trick and the Eagles came out 4-1 winners.
Hartlepool Whites 3 v Aycliffe U14 Girls 2
We played in the league cup first round against opposition in the league above us and showed we could match them. We were the better team throughout, we were 2-0 up with goals from Ebony and Scarlett. Unfortunately, two avoidable goals in the second half saw us lose, however, our performance was the most pleasing aspect and gives us confidence we can mix it up with anyone. POTM: Ebony.

Aycliffe U9 Eagles v Coulby Newham
Another close game for the U9 Eagles today ended in defeat but the performance from the boys was first class.
Aycliffe U11 Eagles v East Durham
We started the game well, taking an early lead to make it 1-0. The boys looked calm around the opposition box, playing some nice football and defending very well when needed. The game got a bit scrappy, but we extended our lead when awarded a penalty after a well worked attack. A penalty for Durham got them a goal back, but a strong finish from the lads saw the game out for our third win in three.
