Last weekend saw girls from three mini soccer teams at Newton Aycliffe Youth FC celebrate their achievements, despite the premature end to their season. The girls were lucky enough to complete their league games but sadly, due to lockdown, weren’t able to receive their league victory or club participation trophies as they usually would.

Due to changes in restrictions, these teams finally met to celebrate during their training session, and their smiles say it all. The club and coaches continue to ensure that safety is paramount, coming second to that is definitely fun.

U10 Angels won Division 1 and were promoted.

U11 Angels Blue were runners up in their first premiership season.

U11 Angels Yellow had a successful debut season in Division 1.

Girls from each team received special awards for Top Goalscorer, Most Improved Player, Managers Player and Player of the Year, as well as their Angel Awards. The coaches; Chris, Clare, Sam, Peter and Lee, are super proud of every single player and would like to thank them and their parents for their dedication during an extraordinary season.

The teams are looking to expand their numbers, due to the U11’s moving to 9-a-side. Outfield players, with or without experience, are welcome, as is a Goalkeeper for our U11 Angels Blue. These girls are fab and can offer a friendly team, a great work ethic and lots of fun. All coaches are DBS checked, teams train on Wednesday evenings at The OakLeaf Sports Fields and will play league games on Saturday mornings.
