Peterlee with a population of 20,000 has a Bus Station which Newton Aycliffe has never had. Salford Estates, the owners of the Castle Dene Shopping Centre also own the bus station and we can only assume this was sold to them by the former Aycliffe and Peterlee Development Corporation when it was dissolved in the 80’s. The County Council has now bought the BusStation from them so that they now own all the bus stations in the county.

A town the size of Newton Aycliffe with a population of 30,000 should have a Bus Station and perhaps our Councillors will note this disparity and start agitating on our behalf?
