A programme of free outdoor Brass band Concerts kicks off in Durham next month.
The Sunday afternoon music sessions are held each year in the grounds of the DLI Museum and Durham Art Gallery.
NASUWT Riverside Concert Band will entertain the crowds on Sunday, 7 June, followed by The Gala Big Band on Sunday, 14 June and Pittington Brass on Sunday, 21 June.
It’s the turn of Craghead Colliery Band on Sunday, 19 July, with Bearpark and Esh Colliery Band performing on Sunday, 26 July.
All performances start at 2pm. However, there will also be a full day of brass music on Sunday, 5 July, when the museum’s grounds play host to the Durham County Brass Band Association Contest.
The music starts at about 10am, with performances throughout the day until around 4pm.
The DLI Café will be open during all of the concerts, serving ice creams and other refreshments.
Visitors can take a stroll around the grounds or visit the museum. Normal admission charges for the museum apply.
