Morrisons are supporting Aycliffe charity North East Autism Society (NEAS) to provide a range of support services for families living with autism.
NEAS has been awarded £17,850 from the Morrison’s Foundation to help continue their Family Support Programme. The project will run throughout 2016 and will support parent workshops, youth club and toddler group sessions. The services are based at the North East Centre for Autism in Newton Aycliffe and supports families from across the region.
Theresa Arrowsmith, Co-ordinator at NEAS said: “We are extremely grateful to Morrison’s for their support. Without this funding we would not be able to provide this level of support to children and families, so crucial in the North East where limited services are available. The donation will help families stay together and children to reach their potential. This project will allow us to support over 100 families and individuals on a regular basis over the year.”
The Morrisons Foundation was established in 2015 to provide financial support to registered charities operating in communities across the UK.
David Scott, Trustee of the Morrisons Foundation said; “ The Morrisons Foundation provides support to charities making a difference to people in our communities. This donation will help North East Autism Society support people in the area”.
