Woodham Community Technology College will become an Academy on 1st September.
Following consultation with students, parents, staff and the wider community, governors submitted an application to the Department for Education.
This has been approved, recognising the fact that Woodham is a school which is performing well. Some changes will be immediately obvious: a new logo, new uniform and of course a change of name to Woodham Academy. Some things will not change, such as the school’s commitment to achievement for all.
In becoming an academy, Woodham will receive additional funding from the Department for Education. This summer will see significant investment in digital technology, including wireless technology, iPads and an Apple Mac suite.
Woodham will also open Woodham Sports Academy in September, providing coaching to elite athletes in a range of sports.
