Three members of The Russian State Orchestra surprised many shoppers in Newton Aycliffe’s Town centre last Friday. The members from Serbia, who were playing at the Hippodrome Theatre that weekend played pieces from Romeo & Juliet, Swan Lake and The Nutcracker. The Russian Ballet is world famous, and it was delightful to hear some of their repertoire being played as shoppers listened on.
The damp day was transformed by their music, and cheered up many. How lovely of them to visit our town with a piece of culture which turned it into a ‘free’ theatre performance of delight. Well done to whoever arranged this, can we see more of this please?
