Sedgefield Racecourse will be hosting its’ annual feature race on Easter Sunday, the Class 2 Betfred Hurdle Series Final race.

20 Horses have entered into the prestigious race of the day. Amongst these are Sedgefield’s leading trainers Sue Smith and Micky Hammond, local Trainers Chris Grant, Brian Ellison and John Wade; Yorkshire’s top trainer Tim Easterby; 2008 Grand National winning Trainer David Pipe, and some of Sedgefield’s loyal Trainers, Donald McCain, Dianne Sayers and Malcolm Jefferson.

This year the racecourse has invested more prize money into their racing programme, adding an extra £5,000 into the prize fund for this Class 2 final resulting in a Total Prize Fund of £25,000. The race meeting is now worth over £60,000 having added a Class 3 Mares Handicap worth £10,000.

The event will also see fun for all of the family with two mischievous Minions, Stuart and Bob in attendance, who will be available to meet and greet upon arrival and will be performing two dance routines, plus an egg and spoon race with the Jockeys.
