On the 21st March Woodham Gymnastics Academy attended the regional floor and vault competition at Space 2 gymnastics centre in Stockton.
It was a monumental event for Woodham Academy as it was the first time boys have competed for the gymnastics academy.
Woodham had two teams in the event, an under 14 girls’ team, an under 14 mixed team and an under 19 mixed team. Competitors were required to perform a floor routine and two vaults. All teams performed extremely well, with each team coming second place in their categories, with the under 19 team just missing out on first place by 0.4 marks.
The Gymnastics Academy has done extremely well, especially as for many it was their first competition. The academy is going from strength to strength and the gymnasts are continuing to train hard, with the hope of getting gold next year.
