Vital resurfacing works are set to take place along a stretch of the A689 in County Durham this month (July).
The work will be carried out on the road between Rushyford and Bradbury, to the east of Rushyford roundabout, from Friday, 11th July until Friday, 18th July.
The scheme is being carried out by Highway Services and is part of Durham County Council’s carriageway resurfacing programme.
Members of the public are being advised to expect possible disruption as the work will see three nights of road closures (between 7pm and 7am) from Friday, 11 July.
The rest of the work will be completed using mobile lane closures for five days, starting on Monday, 14 July.
The mobile lane closures will be in place between 9.30am and 3.30pm and a convoy system will be used to escort vehicles through the works.
John Reed, Durham County Council’s head of technical services, said: “We appreciate the public’s patience with the unavoidable disruption that may arise as a result of these vital maintenance works.”
