Under 12 Girls 2 v Durham County FC Girls 0
Division 2 Champions
Saturdays win secured the 3 points needed to finish top of Division 2. All coaches and parents are incredibly proud of the effort and commitment our girls have shown throughout the season. Well done girls!
Under 7 Eagles v Billingham Royals
A great final game of the season with all players putting in 100% effort. Some good moves in the first half resulted in two good goals from Ollie. In the second half, goals from Joshua and three more from Ollie meant we finished the game well. A fantastic team performance!
Under 8 Eagles v Kader FC
Final league game of the season and the end of a busy run of games during April for the Under 8 Eagles. The game was evenly matched with the Eagles perhaps just about on top during the first half, the score at half time was all square, despite four goals. In the second half it remained even, with Kader probably just about the better side. With no further goals, it was a fair result at the end of a competitive game.
Under 9 Wildcats v Washington AFC Lionesses
Despite both keepers keeping clean sheets, this game was massively entertaining. Both teams had chances & but both defended well. A very competitive game, which really opened up towards the end, with each team trying to find a goal. But both defences & keepers were resolute, to deservedly share the spoils. POTMs: Penny, Elsie & Sophie.
Under 10 Girls v Boldon
Another great match for the U10s Girls. Late into the first half Amelia and Poppy B managed to intercept a Boldon pass, Amelia took the ball through their midfield and defence and slotted the ball away giving the keeper no chance. In the second half both Pheobe & Poppy B scored.
POTM goes to Lara, she held her positions well, had strong tackles the whole match and some great defensive clearances up to the strikers.
Under 13 Girls 3 v Bishop Auckland Pinks 3
We were clinical in the first half and went 2-0 up at halftime. With 10 minutes to go we were 3-1 up but conceded another two, including a soft penalty. A point but felt like a defeat, we will learn from this and move on. POTM Casey.
Under 13 Angels 13 v Pools Youth Blue 1
Our first game for a month found us playing against a team that have had a tough season. Four goals from Isobel & Romilly, 3 for Faith and 1 each for Erin & Sophie gave the win. Star Players: Isobel & Daisy.
Under 14 Eagles 2 v Rutherford AFC 4
A tough game against a strong side and within the first 20 mins we were 3 goals down. The boys kept battled and managed to get back in the game with a goal from Adam closely followed by a goal from Oliver. Down to 10 men for the last 20 mins due to injuries made it difficult to attack in numbers and Rutherford scored another. Despite the best efforts of the team, this is how it finished. MOM Kian.
Under 14 Girls 0 v Leam Rangers 2
The return fixture of our biggest defeat earlier this season. The girls were adamant this wasn’t going to be the same this time round. At times the Aycliffe girls were on top and played some top-class football. They should be proud of themselves despite the narrow defeat. Their effort was second to none. POTM went to Layken who had an outstanding game in goal, distribution & saves, amazing!
Under 14 Girls (Sunday) 3 v Washington AFC Lionesses 0
A great performance to watch from our players. They were patient in the first half and scored three good goals in the second (Lana, Romilly & Eveie). There was some class defending and goalkeeping on show, as well as some sublime attacking play. Star players: Erin & Lana.
Under 16 Girls 1 v TIBS 3
After the very recent away game, both teams knew each other’s strengths and weaknesses. Unfortunately, there was a role reversal and this week TIBS opened the scoresheet within minutes. There was a determined effort on both sides and once again Sophie McClean brought the score level. TIBS managed to keep their cool and earned two more goals to finish 1-3.
