The Neighbourhood & Response teams, working out of Newton Aycliffe, have been busy responding to a variety of incidents across the area over the past week, including concerns for safety, missing persons, shoplifting, domestic incidents and harassment.
Below is a brief overview of what we have been up to:
Enquiries are ongoing after a report of a theft from the UTC on the Business Park on Sunday evening.
On Monday morning PCSO’s Kipling and Todd were invited to speak with students at Horndale County Infant & Nursery School who have been learning about ‘people who help us’.
Also on Monday, a male was arrested following an incident in Guthrum Place and transported to custody. The male was then bailed pending further enquiries.
Also on Monday, a male was arrested following a domestic incident in Honister Place and transported to custody.
On Tuesday, officers executed a warrant at an address in Youens Crescent. A cannabis grow was located inside, and two males were arrested at the scene.
On Wednesday, officers responded to a report of a missing child. The child was found to be fit and well after a very brief amount of time.
Enquiries are ongoing after a report of damage to a vehicle in Bluebell Close, in the early hours of Thursday morning.
Also on Thursday, Sgt. Boyd was invited to St Francis’ ‘Believe and Achieve’ Careers Day. Here the children, supported by their parents and teachers, got to hear what it’s like to be, and what it takes to become, a Police Officer. This was an amazing event where numerous businesses and careers were on hand to showcase what they do in order to inspire the students.
In the early hours of Saturday morning, a female was arrested on suspicion of assault and criminal damage, following a report of a domestic incident.
Officers have also been out and about over the weekend, patrolling regular Anti-Social Behaviour hotspot areas.
A note for your diary, our next PACT meeting will take place on Wednesday 12th July 2023, at The Big Club, Sheraton Road from 6pm-7pm. A member of the Neighbourhood team will be present to discuss any issues you may be experiencing.
Thanks for the support, have a great week.
PCSO Steven Kipling.
