There was a really good response to the Informal Meeting to discuss the formation of Neville Residents’ Association held in the Neville Parade Community Centre courtesy of the Trustees. The meeting was called by Great Aycliffe Residents’ Association whose aim is to form Residents Associations in all parts of Great Aycliffe to give everyone the opportunity to present any problems they may have with the authorities, landlords etc under a banner of unity.
GARA officers, Syd Howarth, Ken Robson and Arun Chandran put the case forward, showing the benefits to be gained, including help with funding for neighbourhood projects. The majority thought the project worthwhile and a further meeting is called for Monday 24th July at 6.30pm to consider a draft Constitution which when approved will be presented to the Inaugural Meeting for adoption. Meanwhile nominations for the post of Chairperson, Vice Chairperson, Secretary and Treasurer are requested. Please do not be afraid to nominate yourself.
