Photo Anita webButterwick supporters are invited to attend a Ladies Lunch at the Park Head Hotel, Bishop Auckland on Wednesday 19th June.

The theme is the Great British Public and the guest speaker is Royal collector and historian Anita Atkinson.

Anita is deputy lieutenant and also editor of the Weardale Gazette.  Her collection includes  ceramics, trays, porcelain, trinkets, tea towels, coins to name but a few and totals over 6,000 catalogued items.

Anita’s passion for Royal memorabilia began in the 1930’s when she inherited her mother’s Royal collection and has escalated into the phenomenal amassed collection.  Only a fraction of selected items will be on display at the Park Head on the day of the luncheon.

As a nation Great Britain have been collecting commemorative souvenirs and memorabilia since the early 17th century.  It reached its peak with the coronation of Queen Victoria and as a nation Royal marriage, birthdays and coronations have been masked with a host of items to mark these occasions.

In true tradition fine English teas will welcome your arrival and lunch will be finest British beef and summer English vegetables followed by plump local grown strawberries and Devon cream.
