Horndale Residents Association working in partnership with Greenfield Arts Centre, held a Winter Fayre on November 19th. Visitors were able to make their own candles, gift tags and badges and there were the usual stalls selling Christmas gifts. We raised a fantastic £182.50 which was donated to a pupil led project, where pupils from Greenfield are designing and building a free library with the help of the Monday morning Cree group.
Cree meet at 10.30am and personally I have enjoyed working with the young people and look forward to the coming weeks passing on my skills. If you are interested in helping the youngsters you are more than welcome to join us. We also enjoy trips and evenings out. For more info contact the Arts Centre, info@greenfield-arts.co.uk.
The evening also saw three local artists, Anna Cole, Vicky Holbrough and Nicola Golightly opening their exhibition “Modus Operandi”.The artwork was produced in the Art Centre Shed and showed what can be achieved using the equipment provided. The exhibition is open till the 28th December. The Shed also offers personalised gifts so call in and find out more.
I would like to thank everyone who joined us and helped make the event successful including Boyes and  Wilkinsons, County Councillors, Gray, Clare and Dixon,
Watch out for Horndale Residents’ events for next year including trips and fun days. The first outing is to Sunderland Dogs – more info in the New Year.
