During half term Greenfield hosted more of the fantastic Smart Craftz 4 Kidz sessions in the Arts Centre – this GAMP AAP funded project has been taking place since October at Greenfield & Woodham schools, with after school sessions for young people exploring Smart materials and craft techniques to design and create products.

This half term more young people were able to learn about the Smart materials with a group using thermochromic and photochromic paints, and glow in the dark materials to create Halloween themed products over two sessions. The group worked with a team of enthusiastic and knowledgeable teachers from Greenfield Community College and had a fantastic time learning new skills and creating a range of products to take away, including scary Halloween masks!

The Smart Craftz 4 Kidz sessions will continue over the next few weeks at both schools, building up to a showcase of their products at Greenfield Arts Centre’s Christmas Extravaganza on Wednesday 5th December 2012, from 5:30pm. This is a fantastic opportunity to see the great things the young people have been creating – we hope to see you there!
