The sessions are organised through the ‘Colour Your Life’ Arts on Prescription service and offer people the opportunity to learn all types of arts and crafts from professional artists.
The classes take place in pleasant surroundings and people come along to learn new skills whilst making new friends. So far participants have enjoyed painting with water colours, acrylics and oils, mosaic making, textile work, sculpture, card making, drawing, collage work and much more.
Changes to weekly hub sessions starting w/c Mon 3 September:
Tuesday: 6-8pm Adult arts and crafts at the Pioneering Care Centre
Wednesday: 1-3pm Adults arts and crafts at Number 15 Spennymoor.
Friday: 10am -12noon Adults arts and crafts at Aycliffe Town Centre Shop, next to Boyes (September/ October only)
12.30- 2.30pm Adults arts and crafts at the Pioneering Care Centre
3.30- 5.30pm Adults arts and crafts at the Pioneering Care Centre
Saturday: 10-12noon Family arts and crafts at the Pioneering Care Centre
Classes are free for the first 8 weeks and thereafter a donation towards materials which are all provided will be invited.
Colour Your Life is funded by NHS County Durham and managed by the Pioneering Care Partnership (PCP) in Newton Aycliffe. It aims to provide access to the arts to promote positive mental health and wellbeing amongst participants.
