Our popular creative activities were once again a big hit during the Easter Holidays, with many sessions being full to brim with eager young people enjoying the chance to shine. Our free Easter holiday programme saw the return of many favourites such as Gallery Encounters, Crazy Crafts and Story Explorers.

Gallery Encounters was a fabulous session as children got the chance to work with talented illustrator Sharron Bates to create a mini-story which will take centre-stage in our forthcoming exhibition! Imagination was the key word with some fantastic stories and illustrations to show for their hard work.

Dawn Belshaw also returned with Crazy Crafts at both Aycliffe and at Foundations, Shildon, where the children were keen to make the most of the opportunities.

In Aycliffe the children were inspired by local landmarks, making fabulous maps and memories and in Shildon they created fabulous plant-pot animals from recycled materials, a real fun activity for all the family with amazing results.

Jilly Johnston brought the art of story-making to life leading a fun session where young people got the chance to create their own handmade book full of their own stories, a great new skill for the many budding authors in the session and a lovely item to take home.

Our new summer learning programme is now available with extra weekly sessions for young people with the return of our regular activities in Dru Yoga and our ever popular Art Club.
