The Conservative Party Candidate for the Sedgefield constituency, Scott Wood, is working hard, with his campaign manager, towards the ultimate objective of getting him elected to Westminster as the first Conservative MP in this constituency for 80 years, so that he can work damn hard for you!
Canvassing took place last week in Great Stainton, Bishopton, the western edge of Newton Aycliffe, Summerhouses, Denton Walworth and farms near Redworth, Heighington and Newton Aycliffe. Reaction has been positive and comments encouraging.
Anybody wishing to campaign on behalf of Scott should get in touch with him at scott@scottwood.org.uk. Donations would also be most welcome.
One of  Scott’s main priorities for the constituency is to improve the road infrastructure around Aycliffe Business Park. He has written a letter to the Chancellor of The Exchequer, and handed it to him on Friday, when the Chancellor stated that more investment and jobs will be brought to the area. The letter stated that Scott, seeks funds for a feasibility study for a by-pass around Redworth.
This would improve the traffic flow from Bishop Auckland and Shildon to the trading estate and commuting to and from Darlington. Also in the letter was a proposal for funding to place a much better railhead and station that serves the Aycliffe Business Park.
