A big weekend lies ahead for Durham Wildcats as they prepare for an important double-header in the BBL. Durham has a tough test on Saturday facing 3rd place Leicester Riders, a match to be broadcasted on BBL TV, before hosting the Glasgow Rocks on Sunday at Newton Aycliffe.
With a 7-12 record and finding themselves in the middle of a tight playoff race between fellow seven and eight-game winners in Glasgow Rocks, Bristol Flyers, Manchester Giants and Sheffield Sharks, a successful weekend for the Wildcats is crucial if they want to increase their chances for postseason play.
This Saturday will be the first matchup versus the Leicester Riders this season. The Riders are on a five-game winning streak and are fresh from an 81-51 romp over Leeds Force in a BBL Trophy match last weekend. Leicester are an all-around strong team with a top-four ranking on offense and they are the third-best defensively in fewest points conceded per game.
The Wildcats will tip-off against Leicester on BBL TV this Saturday 24th January at 7:30pm. They will host Glasgow on Sunday 25th January at the Newton Aycliffe Leisure Centre at 4:00pm.
