Last Saturday I was invited to the Oak Tree to watch a new group “After Eden” fronted by Aycliffe’s own great musician/singer songwriter Vicky Brewster and another great local musician/singer songwriter Gemma Abley.
They were backed by Ben Whitaker on drums and Harry Scarr on bass. They covered a variety of popular songs with gusto. The double female fronted band with Gemma & Vicky singing in harmony were a great combination. This was After Eden’s debut gig and I am sure we will be hearing more from them in the future, – they were well worth going to see.
Aycliffe Young Talent Project (AYTP) has teamed up with Newton Aycliffe Youth & Community Centre (NAYC) for the next few months. AYTP will be organising regular disco’s (under 14’s and under 18s), an open to all Battle of the Bands competition with a prize worth £500 and also instrument tuition and demonstrations.
