On Saturday 12th May and Sunday 13th May CrossFit All Out member, Vicki Finn Smith, travelled down to Birmingham where she battled her way through various gruelling CrossFit style workouts during the weekend.

Saturday saw Vicki competing in the BodyPower Games team event, alongside two fellow CrossFitters from other UK CrossFit gyms, Hannah Gale and Rhian Pearson. Vicki said “Considering none of us had worked out together we did well at using our strengths and weaknesses to our advantage. We came 2nd in the final and 3rd overall so really pleased.” The team secured a place on the podium which bagged them £250 prize money. An excellent start to an action packed weekend.

On Sunday Vicki then went on to compete in the individual BodyPower Games event, where she had to fight her way through four challenging workouts. Vicki gave it her all and came away with a gold medal and 1st place on the podium. She said “I was so happy to get to the top of the podium, it’s been one of my goals for this year to win a competition. Two event wins and two 2nd places, also equalling my personal best of 90KG for clean and jerk when I was under fatigue. I really couldn’t be happier with the result.”

Owner and Head Coach of CrossFit All Out on Aycliffe Business Park, Terry Anderson said “Vicki has worked so hard and overcome her weaknesses in CrossFit with consistent effort. Her win is so deserved as she has a strong work ethic, turning up to put 100% effort in, in the gym daily. Competing in the team event the day prior to the individual speaks for itself, she has a great attitude and the ability to perform well as an individual or in a team. I see a great future ahead for Vicki in the sport of CrossFit.”
