Allsorts, the charity shop in the town centre of Newton Aycliffe, just to the right of St Clare’s Church Hall, in the Acorn Unit, has now been supporting worthy causes such as The Air Ambulance Service, the MRI Scanner Appeal and others, for a grand total of 10 years, having first opened its doors to the public back in 2013.
Run and funded entirely by Mr Godfrey Bennett (a retired TV and Radio Engineer and a long-time and present member of the Aycliffe Masonic Lodge), the shop is open on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 10am til 1pm, and offers a vast range of items for sale at prices that won’t break the bank.
“I can even cater for those who need equipment to play old LP vinyl records or reel to reel tapes” said Mr Bennett, who has lived in Newton Aycliffe since the early 1960’s.
