The delightful garden of Woodside House, owned by keen gardeners Charles and Jean Crompton, will be open to support Marie Curie on Sunday, 11th June 1.00 – 5.00pm – Entry £4. The stunning 3-acre garden is full of interesting trees, shrubs and plants. Superbly landscaped with island beds, flowing herbaceous borders, an old walled garden, rhododendron beds, a  fernery, 3 ponds and even a vegetable garden there is much to fire the imagination. Winner of Bishop Auckland In Bloom and having featured in The Sunday Telegraph and Amateur Gardening this is a mature and much-loved garden. Delicious tea and cakes will be on offer together with a sale of plants  grown in the garden. In addition, Cornerstone, a charity which helps the homeless, based in Willington, will be manning a stall showcasing their garden furniture and garden accessories all of which are made locally to order.
