Hello readers, we’ll start with a couple of results missed from the Kielder Swim that happened on the 17th of September. Sue Brown and David Packham both entered the Mile swim, with Sue finishing 8th overall in a quick 24:57, while David finished 41st in a great time of 35:34. The following Saturday we had one entrant – David Wilkin – participate in non-other than the Ironman Majorca. He finished the race in an amazing 11:52:31, setting himself a personal best for the distance at this event. He was 172nd in his age group and 901st overall out of over 2000 competitors from around the world and he couldn’t have been happier. On Sunday 25th September, closer to home, seven of our club members made the short drive to Barnard Castle to enter the Teesdale Triathlon. Andrew Sedgwick crossed the line first out of the group in time of 1:20:33, 5th male overall and a brilliant 3rd in his age group. Next to finish was Jez Ladbury in a time of 1:36:49, 39th male overall, 3rd in age group. Alan Kellet was close behind Jez, finishing in a time of 1:38:51, 45th male overall, 4th in age group. Michael Casey finished 6th in his age group, 53rd male overall, in a time of 1:42:25,
while James Wilson crossed the line in 1:47:33, 8th in age group, 63rd male overall. For the ladies we had Tracey Warrior finishing a fantastic 2nd in her age group in a time of 1:46:37, 17th female overall and Anne Kellett finishing an equally fantastic 3rd in her age group, 38th female overall, in a time of 2:02:22.
