Dear Sir
You may have read the letter in last week’s Newton News from a lady who sadly slipped on ‘a rogue bag of faeces’ near Woodham Park because dog walkers had been leaving the extra bags near by a full dog-dirt bin.
Dog-dirt bins are emptied once a week on a rota basis.
Where they are full to overflowing, it is usually because someone has put in a large bag of ‘other’ rubbish, leaving insufficient room for the dog-bags. Where this is not the case, the bin-emptiers are tasked to notice and report bins that are regularly overflowing with genuine dog-dirt bags, so extra bins can be installed.
There are currently more than 20 dog-bins in the Woodham Way area alone of my ward, and you will remember that Cllrs Joan Gray, Mike Dixon and myself have recently put two new bins into the Woodham Park area.
There are in addition 24 ordinary litter bins in the area, into which people can put their dog-bags if the dog-dirt bin is full.
However, if you spot an overflowing dog-dirt bin, please tell a county councillor so that they can report it and ask for it to be emptied specially.
Cllr John D Clare
