Darlington Football Club’s half term football camp is already 50 per cent sold out.
The camp, which is being organised over the February half term between Monday 18th and Friday 22nd February, is aimed at 5 to 12 year olds, and they will be given the opportunity to advance their football and social skills in a child-friendly environment in the Dolphin Centre.
The cost is £12 per day between 10am and 4pm, and the children will be looked after by qualified coaches who are DBS checked. There’s a £4 discount for siblings.
Details are available from Liam Coates on 07903 614570 or on email at footballinthecommunity@darlingtonfc.org.
The club’s academy is also holding a talent ID day on Tuesday 19th February, which is aimed at youngsters who are wondering what to do with their careers after their GCSEs later this year.
The academy offers a two year BTEC Level 3 Sport qualification, and the ID day offers training by qualified coaches, chats with manager Tommy Wright and assistant manager Alan White, and a game in the afternoon. There will also be details of what the course offers, and the chance to chat with some of the students.
The academy has already produced some good players, but the course is aimed at anyone who wants to use the qualification as a basis for progressing into any sort of role in sport.
