Dear Sir,
Approximately May 2022, I noticed that the new roundabout, situated between Bluebell roundabout and Middridge Village had the lighting and chevron sign severely damaged, obviously by a large HGV judging by the tyre marks across the roundabout, having difficulty manoeuvring around it.
The chances are that the driver of the said vehicle wasn’t even aware of the damage caused.
What puzzles me is the fact that this damage occurred almost one year ago, and in that time how many DCC employees, local councillors and police officers have crossed that roundabout and not one of them have bothered to report the damage to the appropriate department at County Hall.
Work was carried out on the road adjoining the roundabout in September last year and I would have thought someone from Durham County Council would have come out to inspect this work and, possibly, would have observed the said damage, but it still has not been repaired.
I initially reported this incident on the 20th October 2022 (Road Signs – FS – Case – 460000843), when I was informed someone would inspect the damage within two weeks and that I would be informed as to what action would be taken – to date I have not heard a thing.
