I would like to thank the many people of Aycliffe South that I have chatted to as I have been delivering letters and/or returning surveys over the last few weeks.
Aycliffe South has an electorate of 11,404, so I apologise if I have not spoken with you specifically yet, but I can assure you that, if elected, then in the same way as when I was your MP, I will be accessible and listen to you all.
It is an imperative for your County Councillors to be able to represent all parts of their Division, but also to contribute to the running of the Council as a whole. I believe that my time as your MP has given me both the awareness of what is needed within Aycliffe South and the experience to see what the Council need to do. Whether you live in Aycliffe South on the Town or are in Aycliffe Village or School Aycliffe you have my commitment to listen to you. I understand that what is most important to us all is the place we live and, because of where we each live we have different priorities and it is important your Councillors act on your behalf. If elected, I also commit to work with all Aycliffe elected Councillors collaboratively in the interests of our community.
I will work with the Police for more attention on Anti Social Behaviour and to deliver a Town Centre presence; I will challenge the County Leadership to deliver a better Town Centre and improve public transport and I will be an advocate for our fantastic industrial estate and the many jobs it provides.
I hope you will give me the opportunity to work on your behalf as a Durham County Councillor for the Aycliffe South Division and vote Paul Howell as your Conservative Candidate on 1st May or when you send in your postal vote.
Paul Howell
Conservative Candidate for Aycliffe South.
