On Tuesday, 8th February, I was walking to the car park in Greenwell Road with my wife Doreen. Just as we approached the car, Doreen fell and hit her head and also took me down with her. A lovely family of four passing by came to help us and stayed with us for about an hour. They were brilliant, they got a chair for Doreen, from the barber’s opposite, for Doreen, they brought us hot drinks from the café and they also telephoned for an ambulance. Two very professional paramedics attended to Doreen and were very gentle and kind – I would give these two angels 11 out of 10. As a result of the fall, Doreen is in hospital with a broken hip.
I would like to say a massive thank you to this family and also to another passer by who gave assistance. A special thank you to baby Scarlett who gave me a lift with her lovely smile. Thank you pet, you can be very proud of your family. The actions of these kind people have restored my faith in human nature. I would love to meet up with this family again and thank them personally so I have left my contact details with Newton News, if you want to get in touch.
