With the recent success of the Global Classrooms project at Woodham Academy, assistant head teacher Jon Tait recently shared his expertise with primary school teachers from across the town. The bespoke training session was hosted at Woodham Academy and aimed to upskill primary school teachers from every school across the town in using Skype in their own classrooms.

The Global Classrooms project at Woodham Academy has connected students with classes all over the world and the next step was to extend this to primary schools. Jon Tait, assistant head teacher at Woodham Academy, commented ‘It is very important that we develop our young people into global citizens who can compete with people from all corners of the globe for the top jobs at the top organisations. By learning to communicate with people from different cultures and countries, it develops the characteristics and skills needed to collaborate on a global scale’.

Primary school staff were treated to an interactive training session which even included a live Skype link up to a school for homeless children in Oklahoma City, USA.
