Sugar Hill Primary School’s Leadership Team are absolutely delighted that the whole school team has shone in the recent rigorous Ofsted Inspection and is now looking ahead to a bright future in a new school building.
Under the latest framework, Sugar Hill was judged Outstanding in four areas and Good in one – an achievement the school is incredibly proud of. This latest Ofsted marks the end of an era, as it is the final inspection in the current school building. But, even as staff and pupils reflect on their success, the excitement is building for the future – literally.
“Our new school building will be opening its doors very soon,” said Head Teacher Paula O’Rourke. “The whole school community is excited about the move and we know this new environment will further enhance the successes of Sugar Hill, bringing the whole community together under one roof.”
The report praised pupils for their maturity, excellent behaviour and high aspirations: Inspectors also highlighted the school’s strong values, with children demonstrating empathy, democratic thinking and a deep understanding of human rights. The dedication of staff and the clarity of leadership were repeatedly acknowledged.
Mrs O’Rourke shared her appreciation for every part of the school community. “First of all, I would like to thank the children. They were, as always, amazing and make us all so proud every day. I would like to thank the staff – leaders, teachers, teaching assistants, office staff, lunchtime supervisors and cleaning staff – for their tireless work.
Thank you also to our Governors, especially Denise Raine, Chair of Governors, for her continued dedication. And, of course, thank you to our parents and carers for the support you show us every single day.”
She added, “Sugar Hill is an amazing place to be and one that I am very proud to lead”.
