The Friends of Byerley Park Local Nature Reserve are asking all local residents to spare a few hours on Sunday 18th November to plant some trees on the reserve which have been donated by the Woodland Trust as part of the Queen’s Jubilee Woodland campaign.

The Town Council’s Environment Officer said “Aycliffe is one of the most wooded towns in the area and in light of all the potential diseases and threats our local trees face at the moment this is a good opportunity to do something positive to help our local woodlands. There are lots of trees to plant and people of all ages and abilities will be able to help.

All tools and equipment will be provided by the Town Council. All we ask is people to come along in suitable clothing and footwear to help out with the planting.”

Everyone is welcome and the Friends will be meeting at 10.30am at the notice board near Ranulf Court. For further information please contact Steve Cooper on 07779 090842.
