Aycliffe’s game against Hebburn Town fell victim to the weather last Saturday. Heavy rain left the Moore Lane pitch waterlogged & unplayable leaving officials no choice other than to postpone the game. The game will now be rearranged. In the meantime the Newtonians play away at Consett this weekend. Head Coach Colin Stromsoy, has been busy bringing in new players to strengthen the squad with defender Liam McNamara joining from Seaham Red Star this week. He joins fellow recent signings Kevin Carr & Alex Barnes as the latest in what has been a long list of players in this year’s squad. By contrast, defender Aaron Brown is the only ever present this season having topped last season’s appearances also. Aycliffe now have just five games remaining this season. As well as Saturday’s trip to Consett on Sat 16 March there are visits to Sunderland RCA on 23 March & North Shields on 6 April. The season ends with a home game against Guisborough Town on Sat 13 April with the postponed game against Hebburn to be slotted in. Photo: Colin Stromsoy
