Dear Sir,
I wanted to say a few words on the police, and use of e-bikes by them, in Newton Aycliffe.
We spotted a few PCSO’s opposite the Heighington refuse centre last week riding on e-bikes (testing them out), and drove over the road to just say “hi!”.
The two PCSO’s were actually from Shildon, but testing out the new e-bikes for Shildon, as Aycliffe already had them and were very happy with them too.
We learnt from this chat that these police e-bikes had an 80 miles range, but, amazingly, had a defibrillator, and also a first aid kit in the saddle pack that they carried with them.
A really nice chat to the PCSO from Shildon, but how many of us in Newton Aycliffe appreciate that the Aycliffe police have been first adopters in this technology and first aiders in critical emergencies, and that they are supporting us all with carrying around life saving technology on the ‘e-bikes’?
Well done Newton Aycliffe Police!
