A recent report found that 43% of older LGBT people had no idea where to get support. A new group based in Durham City seeks to rectify this.
Many older LGBT people have lived quietly for years, often with a partner, but have had no contact with the LGBT community. If they become widowed, they can become isolated and vulnerable.
‘LGBT+ Over50s County Durham’ is a social group for older LGBT+ people and their allies. If you are in that group and would like to meet new friends, come along and join us for safe, enjoyable conversation and refreshments. Meetings are held monthly in Durham City in a safe environment with privacy assured and are inclusive and supportive.
