Darlington Football Club played host on Wednesday 6th March to ACORN Resident’s Association and their junior section Little Acorns.

Met at the gate by Deano Browne and Andrew Jinks the children were treated to a tour of the dressing rooms to meet the players and get autographs.

Children formed a guard of honour while players walked onto the pitch and following an action packed first half where Darlington managed to score 5 goals against Norton, the children were allowed to take penalties on the pitch and have their photographs taken with the mascot.

The second half ended with Darlington winning 6 – 1 in front of excited fans; who then went home happily on the bus with great stories to tell.

ACORN is committed to forging links with Darlington Football Club and others to expand activities for local residents and their children. Thanks to Dave Mills from Darlington Football Club for facilitating the visit and to Keith Lovejoy, Youth Coordinator with ACORN for his assistance in organising the event.
