Headway Darlington & District are a local charity supporting people living with brain injury and their families.
Headway Darlington & District have recently moved to Business Central in Darlington. (One of the two big buildings opposite the railway station near the town centre) and are now in a position, following a period of closure through the pandemic, to restart their unique services that they have offered since commencing seven years ago, to survivors and their families. All precautions are still being taken to safeguard our members and volunteers.
A new programme of activities was launched at the beginning of July, but they urgently need more volunteers to support in the delivery of sessions and behind the scenes to enable the charity to bounce back from a very challenging period.
They currently run 3-4 sessions per week offering a safe and supportive environment where brain injury survivors and their families can connect with others and access support, advice and education.
The Charity have great plans to grow their offering over the next 12 months and, to enable them to do so, are launching a major recruitment drive of volunteers who want to really make a difference in their local community and support us to rebuild lives after brain injury.
